Frequently Asked Questions

Certified recycled packaging. Real customer demand. Reliable supply.

This page addresses the questions we're most commonly asked by distributors, operators, and procurement teams assessing packaging solutions, sustainability claims, and compliance requirements.

Sustainability, recycled content & verification

Is ReCree8® independently verified?
Yes. ReCree8® is thinkpac's branded post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin and is independently authenticated under a GECA Claim Authentication. This verification confirms post-consumer recycled content and supports defensible sustainability claims.

Can recycled content claims be used in tenders or ESG reporting?
Where ReCree8® PCR is used, recycled content claims are supported by third-party verification and audit-ready documentation. This allows claims to be used with confidence in tenders, procurement reviews, and ESG disclosures.
Are all thinkpac products made with recycled content?
No. Some thinkpac products are manufactured using verified ReCree8® PCR, while others are supplied in conventional materials based on performance, suitability, and application requirements. We are transparent about where recycled content is used and where it is not.
Are bags made from ReCree8® resin recyclable?
Yes. Bags made from ReCree8® post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin are recyclable, subject to local recycling capabilities. They can be disposed of through local council waste streams that accept soft plastics for recycling. Availability of soft-plastic recycling varies by region, so it's important to check with your local council or waste service provider.
How does thinkpac avoid greenwashing?
We focus on verified materials, clear claims, and measurable outcomes. Sustainability statements are only made where they can be supported with documentation and explained clearly to procurement and audit teams.
Do you offer biodegradable or compostable packaging?
Our focus is on reducing virgin plastic use through verified post-consumer recycled materials where fit-for-purpose. We do not promote degradable or compostable claims where outcomes are unclear or difficult to defend under scrutiny.
If bin liners end up in landfill anyway, how is using recycled material more environmentally responsible?
By using bin liners made from post-consumer recycled material, that plastic is given another productive life rather than being discarded or replaced with newly produced plastic. The environmental benefit comes from material substitution and demand reduction at the source, which reduces the useful life of existing plastic materials and reliance on virgin plastic.
What is the difference between PCR and PIR plastic, and why isn't PCR always cheaper?
Post-industrial recycled (PIR) plastic is clean factory scrap, easy to collect and uniform. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, like ReCree8®, is sourced from consumer waste. High-quality PCR resin requires significantly more investment in supply chain, collection, sorting, and compliance (ISO 14001, GECA, GRS) to ensure a consistent, verifiable sustainability outcome.

Environmental impact & measurement

Can thinkpac quantify environmental impact?
Yes. Where ReCree8® PCR is used, thinkpac provides ISO-aligned methodologies to calculate reductions in virgin plastic use, carbon emissions, energy consumption, and water use.
Use the Impact Calculator
How accurate are the impact calculations?
Impact calculations are designed to be consistent, transparent, and comparative, supporting internal decision-making, ESG reporting, and tender documentation.
Can impact data be shared with customers or stakeholders?
Yes. Detailed impact summaries can be provided to support procurement reviews, customer communications, and sustainability reporting, where applicable.

Product performance & suitability

Do recycled products perform the same as virgin plastic?
Where ReCree8® PCR is used, products are formulated and engineered for performance equivalence with conventional alternatives. Suitability depends on the application, and our team can help assess fitness before any change is made.
Are thinkpac products suitable for high-volume operations?
Yes. thinkpac supplies products designed for real-world, high-use environments, including cleaning, hospitality, and logistics operations where consistency and reliability are critical.
Will switching products require changes to our operations?
In most cases, no. Our focus is on solutions that integrate into existing workflows without disruption. Where changes may be required, this is discussed upfront.
